The two pie charts give information about how much Chinese spent their family income on food, clothes ,medicine and domestic goods in the years 1995 and 2011.
Overall It is clear that the money spent on food and clothing made up the bulk of the family budget in China in both charts. Whereas, small amount of expenses on medicine and goods .
In 1995 expenses on food accounted for well over two-thirds, and fell moderately to 59% in 2011. Money spent on clothes was 19% at the beginning of the period and had a slight drop of 1% in 2011.
Regarding medicine ,it was only 5% in the year 1995 and experienced an almost threefold increase to 11% at the end of the period. The figure for household goods comprised just under one-tenth in the first year , before going up marginally by 3% from 9% in 1995 to 12% in 2011.
