The Speaker of Senate shall be the head of all meetings.
The Deputy Speaker shall take over the proceedings in time of the Speaker’s report and during all times in which the Speaker is holding the floor or is unable to attend the meeting.
All ASG members shall have the ability to submit items to be placed on the agenda.
Submissions by the Executive Committee must be placed on agenda without question.
Submissions by the Senators are to be considered and approved as long as time is not an issue.
Meeting Process
The meeting shall begin with the Speaker of the Senate announcing the exact time of start to officially mark the beginning of the meeting.
The meeting must proceed by following the agenda.
The agenda is not to be changed once the meeting has started
At the end of the agenda there must be an open floor Announcements and Discussions section for both voting and nonvoting members to speak.
A list of all present members must be kept by the Secretary
Each member that speaks shall be given the floor by the Speaker
The member shall have time to present his/her information first
Followed by announcement by the Speaker for any questions at which point the Senators may ask questions regarding the topic presented
This session is followed by discussions regarding the topic presented. At this point only discussions are allowed. No questions are allowed
In order for a question to be asked by a senator during discussion time, a unanimous senate vote must be taken and upon approval questioning may restart.
