Allen Fisher — Editor for Life July 9, 2014
Dear Members, Just a reminder of our upcoming July 16th meeting. I’m sure everyone knows the drill by now, 6:30 PM Dinner, 7:30 PM Meeting. Same location, Barbara Fritchie. Hope to see you there.
I have not made the last meeting, Macungie or the picnic. Mark will bring you up to date on everything. I attended the Shaffer Ford show outside of Cumberland on the 14th of June. I have taken trucks there in the past without much response. This year I took the 56, for you Ford fans there must be something about a 56 Ford. More people talked to me this year than the other years combined. Also, not to brag, my 58 made the cover of TruBlue Trucks check it out. Hope to see you at Winchester, which is just around the corner if not before. Hope you had a good 4th. Allen Fisher
PRESIDENT’S NOTES FROM THE SQUARE OFFICE
2014 DUES ARE DUE, 2015 CAN BE PAID
Randy is accepting dues at the meeting or you can make the check for $10.00 payable to the Mason Dixon ATHS and mail it to: C. Randall Pickett, 1421-A ST Michael’s Rd. Woodbine, MD 21797
On a special note I would like to invite everyone to our next meeting on July 16th, there is going to be an ATHS award presentation to Mel Fair Sr, Mel’s dad who was in trucking all his life. There might even be a story or two about young Mel.
The York Show T-shirt fundraiser is going great. So far we have paid for the shirts and cleared $780. Shirts will be available at the meetings, Berryville show, Tri-State show and if any are left at the Festivus.
At the last meeting we discussed the VA Hospital veterans coming to the Tri-State dinner, Allen had information that they only have 1 bus with capacity for 30 people. On a motion and second it was voted for the club to purchase the tickets for the veterans meal. This is the least we can do for these men and women who volunteer to put their life on the line so all of us can enjoy the freedom we have.
Mel and I made the trip to Springfield to the National Convention and Show. We attended the Board and Convention Meetings and I had the honor at the banquet to accept the passing of the wheel from the Springfield Convention and Show to the York Convention and Show. This was the first time I attended an entire convention and it will not be the last. The people you meet and the different trucks you get to see make it a great time.
The club picnic was again this year held at Doug (BIG AL’S) garage. Approximately 30 people attended and had excellent food and great weather.

Dues and Membership
The policy of the ATHS and the bylaws of the Mason Dixon Chapter state you must be an ATHS member to be a member of the local chapter. On the issue of dues, this will be the last year that we will accept dues year round. For 2015 dues will be accepted starting now with the last dues collection at the Festivus in January. The chapter has to submit a list of members to the ATHS by the 31st of January of each year. This is when the ATHS audits membership to see if the chapter members are ATHS members. We can no longer carry members that are past due on their dues.
The Hood Scoop is published on the first week of the odd month when possible. Deadline for submission to the Calendar of Events and For Sale / Wanted is the third Friday of the even month.
