Patients who need to be seen urgently can be seen the same day by arrangement at any of the two sites.
Telephone consultations are available by contacting Dr P Valluri on his mobile on 07973256493 between 8:30 and 9:00 or before and after surgery sessions.
Thursday is our half day and there is no evening surgery.
If you need urgent medical attention from 12 noon please ring 01254 617590 or 01254 884226 and follow the instructions.
Late evening Surgeries
There are two late surgeries at Rishton and two at Great Harwood each week for those who cannot access the surgery during the day

REPEAT PRESCRIPTIONS
Please order repeat prescriptions 7 days before expiry of supply to allow time for processing
Patients on regular medication may obtain repeat prescriptions. Please deposit your request for a repeat prescription in the box provided at reception. Please allow 2 FULL WORKING DAYS BEFORE COLLECTION. Prescriptions can be picked up at reception during office hours. If required, prescriptions can be posted back to you on request by enclosing a stamped addressed envelope. If you are dropping repeat prescription request through the letter box, please use an envelope.

REGISTRATION PROCEDURE
New patients should bring with them their signed medical card or complete a registration form at reception (GMS1). Registrations will not be complete unless you complete the questionnaire provided and attend a brief health check with the treatment room nurse at Great Harwood or practice nurse at Rishton, followed by an introduction appointment with doctor. We accept patients living in Great Harwood and Rishton. The Doctors would like to see you again 3 weeks after registration once your previous records have been received.
SUGGESTIONS AND COMPLAINTS
The practice welcomes comments and suggestions from patients. If you have a complaint please talk to the practice manager. Alternatively you may address a letter of complaint to the practice manager or to doctor. You will be given a copy of the complaints procedure within the practice.

RECEPTIONISTS
There are four part-time receptionists and a part-time senior receptionist/practice manager. They are all experienced and will deal with most of your needs. Please make all enquiries through the receptionists during office hours. They are there to help you. They are caring and approachable, and anything you say to them will be treated in strictest confidence.
TREATMENT ROOM/CLINIC NURSES
There are a team of qualified nurses who provide a wide variety of services such as health promotion, dressings, ECG’s, vaccinations, pregnancy testing, urine and blood tests, blood pressure checks, ear syringing and offering general advice.
The treatment room at Great Harwood on 01254 736164 is available for all appointments re the above together with smears and travel vaccinations
HOME VISITS
Patients can be visited at home only if too ill to attend surgery. More detailed examination and tests can be performed in the surgery rather than at home. All home visit requests are triaged by the doctor and acted upon accordingly.
ATTACHED STAFF
DISTRICT NURSES
District nurses attached to the practice are based the Clayton le Moors health centre and work very closely with the doctors. They visit patients at home and are available for dressings, injections, home assessment and numerous other procedures. They will answer your queries, or they will notify the doctor of your problem(s). Please telephone 01254 232061
HEALTH VISITORS
The health visitors attached to the practice are based in Whalley health centre and assess the development of pre-school children. If you wish to speak to or see a health visitor please ring 01254 886155.
MIDWIVES
All Rishton midwife appointments are held at Copperhouse, Station Road, Rishton. (The telephone number for the central community midwife is 01254 293292.) Appointments are made through our reception and they are then passed onto the midwives at Copperhouse who will contact accordingly, telephone number for Copperhouse is 01254 887116. Midwives are usually there on Tuesdays each week and In Great Harwood on Mondays.

PRACTICE COUNSELLOR

CITIZENS ADVICE BUREAU
CAB is based in Accrington at the New Era Center, this can be accessed by ringing 03444 889622 for an initial appointment or admin on 01254 394210 these numbers are available Monday to Friday between 9am to 5pm
ZERO TOLERANCE
The practice will not tolerate any verbal abuse or violence towards any member of staff. Abusive and violent patients will be removed from the practice list after due warning.
RIGHTS AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF PATIENTS
All patients will be treated equally regardless of race, gender, sexual preference or disability. All patients are expected to abide by practice rules by being on time and keeping appointments and attending clinics when requested by the doctor.
If practice does not provide a service we will offer an alternative provision.
If you cannot keep an appointment for any reason please ring the surgery at the earliest opportunity to cancel so the appointment can be offered to another patient.
DISABLED ACCESS
There is disabled access at both sites both suitable for wheelchairs with disabled toilets to be found downstairs in both areas.
DATA PROTECTION
All information about patients is completely confidential. The practice is registered under the Data Protection Act 1984. This Act protects data held on the computer systems.
OTHER LEAFLETS
You will find a variety of other leaflets within the waiting area which will inform you of all the services which we provide for our patients. These include a Patient Charter leaflet and information regarding Comments and Complaints.
DOCTORS’ LEAVE OF ABSENCE
When doctors are on leave there will only be one surgery at each site. Locum doctors or other local colleagues will conduct the surgeries. Surgery timings may vary, advance announcement by way of notices, leaflets, and telephone answering service will be made.
