Introduction
Nowadays learning English and it's literature as a second language is becoming more and more important part of study among the students all over the world. In this case, investigating various kinds of most popular novels, stories, poems, sonnets, ballads and others of popular writers' works help to learners to improve not only their knowledge but also their thinking skills fast or other grammatical skills like as reading and speaking.
English literature has been playing one of the most important role as a main part of the world literature for the ages. It is contribution to the literature with available works in certain periods of English literature can not be replaced with another one.
Actuality of the qualification paper. The theme of course paper deals with The American Society during the Great Depression in John Steinbeck's "The Grapes of Wrath". John Steinbeck's life experiences had a great impact on the shaping of his style of authoring. Growing in an agrarian space and having had to work during studies times, he grew up with a sympathetic sentiment towards the working layer. His “Dust Bowl” trilogy reflected the hardships of the defeated migrant farming families he had witnessed in the camps during his years working for the San Francisco News. The Grapes of Wrath, however, is the richest and the greatest among its category because if it is analyzed from an angle that is deeper than the standard literary analysis, one can clearly grasp the social, economic, political, spiritual, and philosophical aspects that won it its significance.
Investigation of the theme. The current study shows that, "The Grapes of Wrath" can be easily considered as a noticeable part of Steinbeck's career as a writer. The reason why, this work can be a mirror to show the American life back during the decade of the American Great Depression. This course work is divided into two chapters.
