Isn’t it a shame?- shame means a painful feeling of humiliation or distress caused by the consciousness of wrong or foolish behavior. But the sentence shows aggressive attitude of a girl about her mother. Isn’t it a shame is going equal with isn’t it crazy, stupid.
The fact that her friends are more close to her makes her aggressive and urges her to say isn’t it a shame?

The sentence is a perfect example of an aggressive context by virtue of the word “harsh”. According to the Oxford dictionary harsh means unpleasantly rough or jarring to the senses.. Harsh words and shouts show the outburst of a person.

How they can do that, how can they act in such a way. Why did they do that. These are the possible form to the sentence. The sentence itself without an exclamation mark is good though, but with it is aggressive.
