TOPIC	DISCUSSION/RECOMMENDATIONS	ACTION · FOLLOW-UP
1. Welcome	Meeting was called to order at 10:11. Minutes from 9-18-2013 were reviewed. Doug motioned to approve, Alan seconded.  With no further discussion, motion passed.
2. BUDGET UPDATES	Doug reported that Wenatchee, Entiat, and Eastmont are in with contracting with Children's Home for Readiness to Learn services.
3. LEGISLATIVE FORUM	Committee needs to confirm an emcee Doug has been attending a local substance abuse prevention coalition meeting comprised largely of youth and thinks it may be fitting to have them participate or present at the forum. Both Carol and Jennifer's presentation are related to ACEs. Doug mentioned that Jenn may not be at the forum now but will recheck emails and get back to the group. Some additional questions to ask the legislators: What are you most proud of out of the -greatest accomplishment- out of the last legislative session? Nov. 1 is scheduled for the announcement of the recipients of mental health contracts through the RSN.   Mary can do a small ask for support to pass legislation related to public health nursing. If there is time left at the end it will be time for constituents to ask questions and talk to legislators.	Mary is available to emcee the forum but will ask Phil first. Mary will follow up with Renee about coalition update and about whether she can help coordinate a presentation by the youth coalition - either a short presentation or a video. Doug will follow up on presentations on LAP and readiness to learn with Brian and/or Shelley Doug will ask Tamara if she is available to give an update on the RSN at the forum. Josie will invite presentations or ideas at committee meetings today.
4. Other	Mary shared insights into how the new model of health care has the potential to impact communities.  As the focus of health shifts from medical services to looking at health outcomes and healthy communities, there becomes more thinking around housing, transportation, prevention and earlier intervention.  This also indicates the likelihood that grant dollars will be coming to support community development. What happened with the south Wenatchee initiative? Mary commented that the coalition to move the proposed work forward (i.e. position members in city council meetings to advocate for action.)
