 catalyzed tandem oxidation  

The  concept  of  heterobimetallic  non-asymmetric  catalytic 

systems  working  in  tandem  cooperation  between  transition 

metal  and  other  metals  including  alkali  or  alkaline  earth 

metals are extensively studied.

 Further, Roy et al recently 

reviewed  the  applications  of  multimetallic  systems  involving 

‘transition  metal-tin’  motifs  in  the  utility  in  Friedel-Crafts 

alkylation,  carbonylation,  polymerization,  cyclization,  olefin 

metathesis,  Heck  coupling,  hydroarylation,  Michael  addition 

and  tandem  coupling.

  We  now  exemplify  the  utility  of 

heterobimetallic  nanoparticles  as  catalysts  in  various  organic 

transformations  such  as  oxidations,  aerobic  couplings, 

hydroformylations, reductive aminations, oxidative couplings, 

borylations, hydrogeantions and cross-couplings as below.  

Mizuno  group  reported  novel  tandem  oxidation  routes  to

substituted  anilines  from  non-aromatic  compounds  (Scheme 

70).
