OUTLINES OF TESTS
There are 8 Papers in M.A. Part-I, Each Paper carries 100 Marks and of three hour duration.
PAPER- I : INDO - PERSIAN LITERATURE
PAPER- II : SPECIAL STUDY OF AMIR KHUSRAU WITH PARTICULAR REFERENCE TO HIS MATHANAVI MAJNUN-O-LAILA
PAPER- III : HISTORY OF ANCIENT PERSIA (SASANIAN PERIOD)
PAPER- IV : ESSAY AND TRANSLATION
PAPER- I : INDO - PERSIAN LITERATURE
Time Allowed : 3 hours Max Marks : 100
Pass Marks: 35
INSTRUCTIONS FOR THE PAPER SETTER
1. The question paper will consist of five sections : A,B,C,D and E. Sections A,B,C ,and D will have two questions from the respective sections of the syllabus and will carry 15 marks each Section E will consist of 10 short answer type question which will cover the entire syllabus and will carry 40 marks in all
2. The question shall not be vague, but should be such as demand definite answers.
3. The questions should be so framed that a candidate of average ability is able to attempt them.
4. The question paper should be written in a neat hand to avoid any possibility of press mistake,
5. The wording of the questions should be simple leaving no ambiguity in its comprehension.
6. In the questions on poets emphasis should be laid on their life, work and style.

SECTION B Translation from Persian into English, Urdu or Punjabi 20 marks
SECTION C translation from Urdu or Punjabi in to Persian 20 marks
