There  is  relationship  between  the  type  of  the  text  and  the  general 

understanding  of  it.  That  is  to  say  texts  about  science  and  specific  terms 

tend to be more difficult for students to comprehend.

Short  stories  have  great  impact  on  developing  students  reading  skill,  this 

can be seen from the result of the test.

Most  of  the  students  have  understand  the  short  story  events  with  less 

difficulty;  their  percentage  of  correct  answer  is  much  greater  than 

percentage of incorrect answers.

The test result has revealed that the more students read the short stories the 

more they recognize grammatical rules and sentences patterns.
