The table above shows the frequency and percentage of the first question "

Why did 

Mr. Chin look toward the jungle for a moment?

". The answer of the question depends 

on the understanding of the passage. 

As shown in the table, the frequency of the correct answer is (19) and the for the 

incorrect answer is (11), the percentages are (63.3%) and (36.7%) respectively. 

The result of this question indicates that most of the students have succeeded to figure 

out the correct answer. This is a clear prove that short stories help readers develop 

their reading skills by understanding the sequence of events within the story.
