status
The sixth draft of 17G (13628-7) will be completed in Mid-July. The technical writing team is continuing to finalize two clauses 6 and 7, while conducting a line by line review to amend the wording from RP to Specification language. The line by line review is providing benefits of identifying redundant and “teaching language” which could be confusing to the reader as we move the document to a Specification. A 20% reduction in the size of the document has occurred in completed clauses and annexes. To meet the mid-July completion date, the technical writing team is meeting 3 days a week by teleconference.
The "Baby G" efforts have developed their respective tables of content and begun drafting the documents. At this junction all of the "baby G's will be RPs. Work is on-going.

WORK IN PROGRESS
The six working draft will be sent to API and 17G task group members as the ballot draft by mid-July 2014.
Clauses 6, 7 and Annex D continue to be the most technical challenging sections to write and edit. However the technical writing team is moving forward to completion.
Line-by-line review has taken place with all other sections except annexes I, K and L. This review (bi-weekly for the last two months) has eliminated some of the "tutorial" out of the document (in keeping with the goal to make this a Specification document) resulting in a 20% reduction in size of the reviewed sections. Outstanding sections should have their reviews completed by the mid-July target date.
