Public health has always been a major concern in most societies; hence, it is yet to be agreed upon what could be the most reasonable method to make people healthier. Can this ambition be realized by multiplying sports opportunities or do the other methods have to be resorted? This essay will discuss the main reasons of what people on both parties are relying on and why I believe the former idea is more relevant.

On the other hand, only by giving individuals better chances to exercise sports, in no condition can the public health be noticeably improved. This is due to the fact that quite a number people, especially city dwellers, choose whether or not being active thus healthy, which means they cannot be forced to do sports activities even by creating such facilities. If this is the case, the governments should take some actions such as imposing taxes on junk food, establishing obesity controls at workplaces, dealing with environmental problems as pollution, all of which would mechanically lead people to rather healthier life. This is why I am in favor of those who think a larger number sports facilities alone could not provide better public health.
