Tourism Has Negative Consequences
Tourism has the potential to have a negative impact on the natural
environment.

The construction of structures and infrastructure has the potential to
devastate the habitat of wild animals.
The construction of hotels has degraded the beauty of beautiful
beaches.
Tourism contributes to pollution and trash production.
It places a strain on available resources in the area.
Traditional and cultural practises in the area may be jeopardised.
An increase in the cost of living has an impact on the local
population.
Prices of goods, services, and housing may rise dramatically as a
result of this.
Tourism in the Twenty-First Century
The government should enact legislation to protect natural
resources and indigenous peoples' cultures.
Tourism should have a minimal influence on the environment.
Renewable energy sources such as solar and water power should be
utilised.
Waste should be recycled whenever possible.
Small local enterprises, such as farms, should be encouraged to
succeed.

Traditional vs. contemporary
1.
Some people believe that progress is always good. Others believe
in preserving tradition. Which do you think is more important and
why? Use specific reasons and examples to support your opinion.
2.
Do we have to plan for the future? Or stay focused on our present?
What is your opinion and why? Provide examples to support your
stand.

Traditional skills are being lost.
As a result of industrialization and globalisation, many customs
have been lost.
Advertising on a global scale pushes everyone to purchase the same
things.
The vast majority of things are now manufactured in factories.
Machines have taken the role of expert human work.
Factory work is monotonous and leaves people feeling unsatisfied
with their jobs.
Products are manufactured in a short period of time and in big
quantities.
Because products are less expensive, more individuals can afford to
purchase them.
Examples
The majority of clothing is mass made in regular sizes.

Rather than traditional costumes, people dress in similar attire to
one another.
Jeans and a T-shirt are now widely worn all across the world.
It takes experienced craftsmen years to construct historic structures.
Modern concrete, steel, and glass structures can be constructed in a
matter of weeks or months.
There are fewer persons who are capable of producing hand-made
things.
