Поскольку мы обучаем будущих переводчиков, то в качестве 
обязательных упражнений должны даваться задания на перевод 
отдельных фраз, идиом (с подбором русских эквивалентов), а 
также целых предложений:

Затем выбирается лучший перевод из предложенных студен-
тами.
После работы с лексикой начинается непосредственное об-
суждение статьи в виде ответов на вопросы. Если времени до-
статочно, следует выслушать мнение всех студентов, вовлекая в 
дискуссию не только активных, но и пассивных членов группы. 
Например, для обсуждения статьи ‘How to Tell If Someone Is 
Manipulating You – And What to Do About It’ by Cassie Shortsleeve 
были предложены следующие вопросы:
Do you think that manipulator have mental problems or are they 
fully responsible for their actions?
Is there any justifi cation for manipulation in some cases, for 
example, in teaching?
Do you think politicians often manipulate the population? If yes, 
give some examples.
Is it necessary to introduce criminal liability for manipulation?

What type of manipulators is more effi cient – ‘the bully’ or ‘the 
victim’? Why?

В качестве задания на формирование еще одного продуктив-
ного навыка – письма – (в рамках интегрированных навыков) 
можно предложить следующее: 
Write an essay on one of the following topics…
Write your own tips on how to handle … Use as many words/
phrases given below as you can.
В заключение занятия, если содержание статьи предполагает 
подобное, можно дать студентам какой-нибудь тест, например: 
How
 stressed are you? Do you have a healthy lifestyle? Do you love your 
body? Are you a spender or a saver?
– c последующим подсчетом оч-
ков и комментариями к ним. Такие задания всегда вызывают у 
студентов живой интерес и помогают снять напряжение и рассла-
биться после интенсивной умственной нагрузки во время урока.
Таким образом, в ходе подобных занятий одновременно 
функционируют несколько видов речевой деятельности – чте-
ние, аудирование, говорение и письмо, развивается способность 
воспринимать и обрабатывать информацию из разных источни-
ков, происходит более глубокое усвоение аутентичного учебного 
материала, повышается познавательный интерес и творческая 
активность студентов, что в конечном счете направлено на до-
стижение главной цели учебного процесса – формирование и 
развитие иноязычной коммуникативной компетенции.
