SAMARKAND – 2018

1.Ecology
Today’s world where we live in, environmental crisis has arisen at alarming level since the industrial revolution for the last decades. We, human beings, are disturbing ecological balance. Land and water have been contaminated and caused harm to living organisms as well as the environment. Acid rain, green house effect, global warming and ozone depletion are common terms that we have heard and will eventually cause the earth to no longer be safe place to live in.
Rich countries such as The united States and Australia are responsible for seven out of 10 tons of carbon dioxide emitted since the industrial revolution. Other green house gases such as methane and nitrus oxide also contribute to the heat –trapping condition and result in global warming where the average temperature increases. Green house gases are mainly due to human activities such as burning fossil fuels. Consequently, flooding and drought will happen and people around yhe world will suffer from their selfish actions.
Besides, the soil pollution, it is also an undesirable outcome when rich countries deprive people of the lands for agricultural purpose. Herbicids, pesticids are used to maximize the production to export products regardless of the impact towards the environment. The chemical substances will leave the soil acidic, the clearing of the forest due to agricultural development will also cause animals to lose natural habitats.
In addition, some developed countries have transferred their industries to other rural countries to lower their production costs. it causes pollution in that particular country and they have not taken the respondsibility to fix the situation. As a result, the rich consume and the poor suffer the pollution.
In conclusion, it is not right for rich countries to pollute the environment in order to achieve economic growth. Actions have to be taken slower down the impact towards environment anf human.
2. Tourism
The terms tourism and travel are sometimes used interchangeably. In this context, travel has a similar definition to tourism, but implies a more purposeful journey. The terms tourism and tourist are sometimes used pejoratively, to imply a shallow interest in the cultures or locations visited. By contrast, traveler is often used as a sign of distinction. The sociology of tourism has studied the cultural values underpinning these distinctions and their implications for class relations.
Tourism is travel for pleasure or business; also the theory and practice of touring, the business of attracting, accommodating, and entertaining tourists, and the business of operating tours. Tourism may be international, or within the traveller's country. The World Tourism Organization defines tourism more generally, in terms which go "beyond the common perception of tourism as being limited to holiday activity only", as people "traveling to and staying in places outside their usual environment for not more than one consecutive year for leisure, business and other purposes".
Tourism can be domestic or international, and international tourism has both incoming and outgoing implications on a country's balance of payments. Today, tourism is a major source of income for many countries, and affects the economy of both the source and host countries, in some cases being of vital importance. There has been an up-trend in tourism over the last few decades,[vague] especially in Europe, where international travel for short breaks is common. Tourists have a wide range of budgets and tastes, and a wide variety of resorts and hotels have developed to cater for them. For example, some people prefer simple beach vacations, while others want more specialised holidays, quieter resorts, family-oriented holidays, or niche market-targeted destination hotels.
The developments in technology and transport infrastructure, such as jumbo jetslow-cost airlines, and more accessible airports have made many types of tourism more affordable. The WHO estimated in 2009 that there are around half a million people on board aircraft at any given time.[51] There have also been changes in lifestyle, for example some retirement-age people sustain year round tourism. This is facilitated by internet sales of tourist services. Some sites have now started to offer dynamic packaging, in which an inclusive price is quoted for a tailor-made package requested by the customer upon impulse.
