ST. JOHN’S EPISCOPAL CHURCH IN EAST WINDSOR
Announcements for 31 May, 2015
Trinity Sunday
WELCOME to ST. JOHN’S! If you are a visitor or newcomer to St. John's, we welcome you to worship this morning. If the service is unfamiliar, don’t worry a bit - just let the congregation carry you. Do let us know if you have any questions - just ask the person sitting near you - and join in for coffee and treats in the Parish Hall after every service.
THANK YOU ALL for participating in so many ways to make the Institution service and Celebration of New Ministry an event to remember always. Special thanks go out to the Altar Guild, Sue Riley and the Adult Choir, the Guild of Acolytes, the Hospitality Ministry, all the Presenters, the Ushers, Lectors, and all the fantastic people who made it so beautiful. Thanks above all to God, for the long and surprising road that got us all to this good place at this time.
Congratulations to our CHURCH SCHOOL for the culmination of their Little Free Library initiative! The LFL is now installed on the Church Lawn, and will be dedicated and blessed today at 9:45. Thank you, all, for this welcoming and important gift to the East Windsor Community. Special thanks to their Leaders, especially Jan Grace, Deb Sawtelle, and Laurie Bessette, our designers/builders Bruce and Patricia MacClintic, and to all of you for the ongoing supply of lovely books!
Speaking of Church School, this Sunday is the last day of our Church School year! Thanks again to all the terrific teachers and leaders, children and parents who make this program such a good one.
NEXT SUNDAY we begin our SUMMER SCHEDULE! One combined service at 9 am in the church. This will be the last Sunday of the church year for our Adult Choir, and the first Sunday of our Summer Choir.
RECOGNITION SUNDAY is next week too – we’ll celebrate all our students, teachers, and our choirs for all their good work. Don’t miss it!
Our Summer schedule will bring a change in the contents of the WEEKLY EMAIL BLAST. We’ll streamline our communications by sending the same one email to all parishioners. This one email will include the announcements, liturgical server’s schedule, and the readings for the Sunday coming.
FRIDAY, JUNE 26, is the fourth Friday of the month - our day to help at PAULINE’S STOCKPOT KITCHEN. Come out and join the fun, and experience what it is to be Christ’s hands and hearts in our own town. Hosted by Wesley United Methodist Church, 55 North Main St., East Windsor, CT. Cooking and set-up begin midday, dinner is served at 6, and clean-up follows. All aspects of this important ministry are real fellowship, and all need you!
DANDELION ENVELOPES are at the church entrance, ready for your ongoing contributions to keep our grounds tended and welcoming. Thank you for helping St. John’s to look her best!
