Theme: Pet’s
The aim of the lesson:

  1. To encourage pupils to use activities range from dialogues through to open discussions;

  2. Introduction of new lexical items on the topic “animals”,

  3. The writing tasks are linked to both activities/lexical and grammatical;

  4. To develop pupils reading, listening, speaking, and writing skills;

Aids: Pictures, illustrating various animals, a ball, cards, posters, markers, a tape-recorder etc.
The procedure of the lesson

  1. The beginning of the lesson.

    1. Greeting

    2. Checking up homework

  2. Warm up

To write up the word “animals” on the poster and ask students to write all the words they can think of that are connected to the word.

2. Speaking. Answering the questions


a) What animals do you know?
(a dog, a monkey, a cat, a crocodile, a cow…)
b) What colour can animals be?
(black, red, yellow, white, grey…)
c) What can animals do?
(They can jump, run, swim, climb)
d) Where can animals live?
(in a forest, in a house, in a Jungle, on a farm….)
e) What kind of animals do you know?
(domestic and wild animals.)
3. Playing a game “Animals”. (To through a ball to each of pupils in turn. When they catch it, he/she must name a kind of animal. The pupil who makes a mistake goes out of the game.)

Many people are fond of pets. They keep different animals and birds as pets. Moreoften they are dogs, cats, hamsters, parrots and fish.
As for me I like parrots. They are my favourite pets. They are clever and nice. I have got a parrot. Its name is Kesha. It is a blue. It is not big. It is little. It has got a small head, a yellow beak, a short neck, two beautiful winds and a long tail. It lives in a cage.
I teach him to talk. It knows many words. I take care of my pet. I give it food and water every day. It likes fruit and vegetables. It likes to fly, play and talk.
I love it very much. It is a member of our family.
4. Working on the text:
a) Gap filling:

3. I teach my parrot to …
4. It is a … of our family.
b) are these sentences true or false:
1. People keep different toys as pets.
2. Pets are not clever and nice.
3. Parrots live in boxes.
4. People don’t love their pets.
c) Translate the sentences into English:
Men hayvonlarni juda yoqtiraman. Men ularni har kuni parvarish qilaman.
Consolidation part.
Who has a pet?
Pupils ask questions about animals.
Do you know any poems about animals?
Reciting the poems in turns. Pupils show pictures of the animals they speak about.
Guess game.
One of the pupils describes a toy – animal. The other pupils have to guess what is it?
1- pupil: It’s a wild animal. It lives in a jungle . It can jump and run very well. It likes to eat meat and drink water. What is it?
2- pupil: Is it a giraffe.
1- pupil: No, it is not .
3- pupil: Is it a lion?
1- pupil: Yes, it is.
Now listen to the riddles and try to guess them:

    1. I am a big and I am strong and my trunk is very long.(elephant)

    2. This animal is small, it lives in the woods. And runs very fast, it’s afraid of everything. What animal is it? (a hare)

  1. The end of a lesson.

      1. Marking.

      2. Homework.

Well, dear pupils, now you know so much about animals, that you have pets at home and you take care of them. And we mustn’t forget that animals and birds are our friends.

  1. your home task is to write an essay on the topic “My pet”

  2. to retell the topic.
