3Joint Programs and Employability in REDEEM consortium




3.1First survey results


  • Research on these programs remains limited especially linked to employability (Tauch, Rauhvargers 2002; Croisers, Purser; Smidt 2007; EUA’s surveys; Knight 2011, 2013)

  • Still very few generations of JP’s students that are on the labor market now du to small study groups and juvenility of JP’s

  • German-French university 2014  positive results

    • For 60% a double degree was an advantage

    • 70% needed less than 3 months to find a job

    • Double degree as an advantage for an international career and mobility

  • IW consult for DAAD 2003  positive results

    • Employers recognize: intercultural experience, language skills,

    • 50% recognize double degrees and find them attractive

    • For 60% a double degree make a difference concerning hiring, especially language skills are important because enable to work abroad

    • Business and engineering double degrees are highly demanded

  • In Italy: only a few and outdated national studies on the topic exist.

  • In general the consortium members do not have results from internal studies on double degrees.

3.2Interest of the project


  • Link between joint programs and employability of the graduates

    • Perception of students?

    • Perception of Joint Programs by employers? Employer needs?

    • JP/DD as a real advantage in comparison with conventional programs in professional life?

    • Academic validity of JD/DD?

  • Guidelines to improve and adjust the JP/DD to students and labor market demands

  • Quality assurance of our JD/DD

  • use the results as a recruitment/marketing tool
