There are a number of advantages of the internet for the students. It includes access to information. You can get the internet round the clock. It never shuts down. The internet is great for communication and entertainment. This is excellent for getting a job and education online.
The cons of the internet are its addictive nature. There is certain content which is not good for children. It causes distraction. On the other hand, the internet enhances efficiency. It offers opportunities for learning. It has a strong possibility to help someone get out of the impoverished state.
The internet is going to enhance the community of class. It helps in communication beyond the classroom. There are class websites which offer students a chance to get the homework. They can obtain materials. They are able to communicate with students. They will be able to distribute the projects.
I have come across certain disadvantages of the internet. It wastes a lot of time and is addictive. It is the place where you might be bullied. There are stalkers everywhere across the net. You have come across advertising and spam. Sometimes you have seen violent images on the web. There is identity theft along with hacking. There are a number of hackers who are spreading viruses. It is also important to be aware of cheating through the internet. The internet influences patience and concentration.
The eyes are affected when somebody spends a lot of time on the internet. Those who are using the internet significantly, they live in a virtual world. You have come across fake news. One has to be aware of the rumors on the internet. I am sure that you are aware about the cyber attacks. It occurs in the corporate sectors and banks.
The Internet is for sure one of the greatest inventions of last century. The point is that the invention and implementation of it to different spheres of our life has completely changed the way we live it. It has transformed the process of communication, study, search of information and even the way of thinking. But are all these changes positive?
First of all, the existence of the Internet doubtlessly had enormous effect on our lives. Furthermore, it brought more opportunities that had been unachievable before. As for the process of communication, it’s obvious that the appearance of the Internet has given us a chance to keep in touch with people from all over the world. We are able to hear and see our faraway relatives and friends as well as make a deal with clients and business partners from different continents. Moreover, we have unlimited access to any kind of information, which makes it easier to study and develop ourselves. 
On the other hand, it’s disputable if we use all these advantages or not. The unlimited access to information can be treated as drawback, because people are not motivated to get knowledge. In addition, the information that is available for everyone is not so desirable any more. The vast majority of teenagers waste their free time surfing useless websites and chatting with each other. They stopped communicating face to face and don’t spend enough time outside. The problem is also that the Internet is like a drug for many people. More and more often we talk about the Internet addiction and how it ruins our lives.
As for me, I can see a lot of advantages and new opportunities that the Internet allows us to use. Nevertheless, we have to be vigilant and do not become addicted.
Some people think that the Internet is the most necessary thing which helps gaining education but there are also those who blame it for making people addicted. In this article, I am going to write about the pros and cons of the Internet.

One of the advantages of using Internet is that we can find every information we want to. The thing we are searching will be for sure found in one of the millions of pages. What is more, the searching process is very short and the Internet portals like 'YAHOO' and 'AltaVista' are created to help us with it. In addition, if we have the Internet at home, we don't have to go to the libraries. In this way, we are sparing our priceless time. Another advantage is that we can communicate almost with everyone through the Net with help of e-mails and messengers. It's cheaper and faster than the normal mail.

On the other hand, the disadvantages are a serious problem for today's world. The Internet is causing one of the worst diseases - the Internet addiction. People are wasting their time taking part in the useless chats. However, it's good because we can talk with almost everyone from the furthest sides of our planet, but on summary - it's not worth spending our time. In addition, if we don't have the ADSL*, we spend too much money on the modem connection. There is also a danger for the teens because of the presence of paedophiles on the Net and lot of pages, which includes the videos for adults.
To sum up, the Internet is very necessary but we have to learn how to use it and avoid all the dangers of usage. We should remember that it's only a source of information and not a way to search for serious friendship.

As for Internet friendships, sitting at home in front of a computer making 'chat friends' is not the same as actually meeting people. In conclusion, the Internet obviously has both good and bad points. Fortunately, the system is improving all the time, and any problems which still exist can be solved. Whether we like it or not, the Internet is here to stay, so we have to make the best possible use of it.
