for the next generation of artists and cultural workers to increase innovation and reach more audiences, attracting increasing numbers of citizens to participate in culture. Creative Lenses will be delivered by a partnership of 13 cultural centres, universities, city authorities, networks and cultural agencies that have the combined expertise and capacity to produce a project that will have lasting effects on the European cultural landscape.
This will be achieved by a process that includes research, training, Action Learning, capacity building and international networking, resulting in 21 workshops, 2 Cultural Conferences,
8 forums, 8 artistic productions, a book, a ‘developing successful business models for culture toolkit’ and a unique digital benchmarking tool for the sector. This project brings together a network of partners to broaden and develop the audience to Viking heritage and its sites across Europe. These partners are already members of the Destination Viking Association which will take forward the results of the project. The Follow the Vikings project is a multi-faceted project to promote, celebrate, transfer knowledge and skills and facilitate the exchange of tangible and intangible cultural material relating to the Viking World. Puppet Nomad Academy, EU-stöd: 200 000 euro

Projektledare: MINI TEATER, Institute for execution and promotion of puppet and theatre performances, SI
Partners:
- STAFFAN BJÖRKLUNDS TEATER, SE

- BUCHTY A LOUTKY, CZ

- PRO RODOPI FOUNDATION / FONDATZIYA ''ZA RODOPITE", BG
- UO NOVO KAZALISTE, HR

The project will encompass activities aimed at improving the contacts and exchange of knowledge among the partner countries. The goal of the project is also establishing contact between the younger generation, emerging from universities, and older, experienced artists. But mostly, it is about implementing the ancient Greek method of transferring knowledge and skills from the masters to the young. The proposed project is similar to this in the aspect of being predominantly intended for the mobility of artists, education and creation of different puppet performances of different techniques and with diverse direction concepts. The basic purpose of the project is the organization of workshops which will allow young puppeteers and actors to meet the masters of theatre and together create different performances. All the teams are fully international and all include artists from different countries and environments, creating together on a common theme. The themes cover a wide assortment ranging from classical motifs to new original texts, which will be written especially for these pieces. Great emphasis will be put on improvisation throughout the process. After the completion of the performances, great intention will be paid to the presentation of the projects in different environments the authors themselves stam from.

Apart from the performances themselves, touching upon themes such as friendship, violence among children, fear of difference or sexuality, there are three further projects specifically created for encounters with sensitive themes the children experience in the period of growing up. Poo, Death and Love (interactive and intermedia performance and intermedia sculpture for the youngest children and adults, or respectively, a communication-education and emmancipatory process).

OTHER WORDS – Literary Circuit for Small and Minority Languages, 200 000 euro

Projektledare: DONOSTIA KULTURA ENTIDAD PÚBLICA EMPRESARIAL, ES

Partners:

- FÖRENINGEN LITTFEST, SE

- DRUSTVO ZA SODOBNO UMETNOST X-OP, SI

- FORAS NA GAEILGE, IE
- YOUTH FORUM BITOLA, MK

Other Words will create a network of creative placements for minority or lesser used language writers, cooperating with cultural agents in countries where those languages are spoken.

A defining European characteristic is cultural and linguistic diversity. During our long history much of the literature in these languages has been hidden, surviving thanks only to their speakers and creators. Other Words seeks to help Europeans to discover this richness via artistic placements and translations, sharing experiences from different territories.
Mobility of writers and their works is central to the project. It will offer 8 week-long literary residencies. Writers from participating countries will be placed in a different participating country. Each year partners will send 2 writers and host 2 other writers. The participating bodies will issue an open call and run a selection process. Also, they will have to offer mediation activities to the literary creators they host. The aim is that dynamic relationships
be formed during the placements with the communities in the host country. Firstly, the creation process should be carried out in a way that is visible to the public and, secondly,
the placement experience should be depicted in the creation process. Writers must, therefore, complete 2 activities during their placement.

Examples of possible activities include:

- Conferences or workshops for the general public.

- Activities promoting reading and writing for children and young people.

- Collaborating with an artist from the host territory and combining disciplines.

Finally, literary works created by these writers will be translated into English and the other languages and published digitally on the project's website. This digital platform will also show activities held during the placements to new readers and to European cultural promoters working with artists in minority languages, offering them first hand information on our efforts to help writers work transnationally.

Europe Grand Central, EU-stöd: 200 000 euro

Projektledare: Not Quite, SE
Partners:
- TRANS EUROPE HALLES, SE
- ASSOCIAZIONE LAMINARIE, IT

Europe Grand Central is a ground breaking cooperation effort that combine grassroots projects by independent culture organizations across Europe and beyond through a unique digital and conceptual platform to connect audience created narratives about the human act of crossing borders. Partners of the project, all solid culture operators and networks, work on vastly varied topics such as rising xenophobia towards refugees in Sweden, personal consequences of mounting economic crisis in Greece, disconnected suburbs and city-dwellers in Bologna and Bremen, political tensions at the eastern borderlands of Poland, and skewed notions of the Arab world in Europe.

The methods for audience inclusion to challenge sentiments of "us" and "them" vary across interactive theatre and photography, craft, design, workshops, street art, and artistic residencies. Europe Grand Central is the space for learning across contexts and to develop methods to meet our audiences where they are. At the heart of the project is the continuously developing Bordr digital tool for connection of border stories that will be used in and across all projects. The partners will co-design our action sharing database europegrandcentral.net hosted by Trans Europe Halles, the main network of independent European culture centers, that serve as our communication, and legacy partner. Over two years we will have four project meetings, in 2017 we will coordinate an all-European simultaneous show of local presentations. Our research and dissemination partners are world class universities and public institutions across Europe and beyond. Our aim is to transform perceptions on the act of crossing borders from suspicion to curiosity, to empower under- and misrepresented individuals, and to spread lasting lessons on the art of collecting, representing and combining first hand human experiences. We work to produce an inclusive statement of diversity with potential to start a global movement of connected human values.
