come into a lot of money. We only use this, however, for an inheritance,
never a lottery.

Off
frequently means a change of state or position (like push off or get
off). When you come off something, you leave it. By extension, when you
come off a project, you also leave it. Why do you leave a project?
Because it is finished.
When a project comes off, it is a success. Always.
Compare this with the star who can
bring off
the show. Or the con-man (a
clever criminal) who could
carry off
‘selling’ the Eiffel Tower. I believe he
sold it several times.
These all mean the same.

This is a simple expression, often used with impatience. It means come to
me, or come with me on the way. There are other ways of saying this.
