follow through
You follow a project
through
to the end. You complete it. You follow it
through. This is similar in meaning to
get through
something, but notice
that the grammar is different. You follow it through, but you get through it.
Notice a difference in meaning. When we say that Jim followed it through,
we mean that he achieved something. Good man, Jim! He didn't stop
halfway. He has something to show for it. But if we say he got through it,
it merely means that he survived.

follow up
You ask a company for some information about their latest super product
you must have, and they send you a nice catalogue. A few days later, they
phone you to 'see if you got the catalogue'. That was a follow-up call. The
company was following up.
Up
here, as so often, means completing.

(get, got, got (US gotten))
What does get mean?
Well, get + (noun) means 'achieve', 'receive', 'obtain' etc.
Get a new car. Get my salary every month. Get a bad headache.
And get + (adjective / past participle) means 'become'.
Get rich. Get even fatter. Get married.

But the interesting one for us today is get + (preposition) which means
something like 'move the body somewhere with some difficulty'.
Get in prison. (Oh, dear)
Get out of prison. (More difficult)
Get on your bike
Get under the table during an earthquake.
