NIGHT AUDIT AND REPORT MANAGEMENT
Night Auditor
• Completes postings of all charges to guest folios
• Receives and records guest payments
• Prepares revenue report, including day rates posted by other shifts
• Posts daily room, tax, and other noninterfaced charges (Total room revenue should balance with
the PMS room revenue report.)
• Completes resetting of data to show any adjustments for errors and gives full explanation;
records last consecutive number and resets number where appropriate
• Completes high-balance credit report to identify guest ledger folios of cash-paying customers
with debit balances and identifies folios with balances in excess of preestablished credit limits
• Prepares Manager’s Daily report to be given to the FOM and general manager for review
• Prepares and distributes required emergency, revenue generation, reservation activity, exception,
and management reports as instructed by the FOM
• Prepares and has ready by 7:00 a.m. each day the housekeeper’s report, which identifies status
of check-outs, stayovers, and vacant and OOO rooms for the previous night
• Prepares maintenance log report for distribution to chief engineer
• Assigns rooms in a courteous and efficient manner to late arrival guests; performs check-out
procedures for early departure guests
• Records and makes all requested wake-up calls properly
• Provides information to guests in a courteous manner
• Prints and distributes folios for express check-out
• Follows appropriate policies and procedures in emergency situations
• Completes the night audit by change of shift at 7:00 a.m. Relays information to department heads
(especially data pertaining to the morning’s breakfast business and meeting set-ups)
• Ensures that all historical and managerial data are recorded and archived as instructed
