accountant (typically working part time) may complete financial reports and tax
returns. One or more maintenance persons are available for routine maintenance and
repair tasks. (Work that requires extensive knowledge or specialized equipment is out-
sourced.) A front office manager supervises the staff working at the front desk. These
entry-level employees perform duties such as reservations, and guest registration and
payment, and they may have other service responsibilities that require full-time staff
members in larger properties. A housekeeping supervisor directs the work of entry-
level staff who clean the hotel’s guestrooms and public spaces.
