Claudio studied biology and pathology before beginning work in the hospitality industry in 1985. He
worked two years in food and beverage and one year in a front office position before joining
Marriott in 1988 in Hong Kong. He has worked as a bell services attendant, concierge, front desk
agent and supervisor, assistant manager, restaurant manager, chief concierge, front office manager,
and director of services. Claudio has opened hotels in Recife (Brazil), Hong Kong, Australia,
Singapore, and Rio de Janeiro and has worked in San Juan (Puerto Rico) as a front office manager
and as director of services. He was transferred to Hawaii for his present position in late 2004.
Claudio has the honor of being the first certified trainer for the rooms division for Marriott in Asia.
He has attended many seminars and training sessions with Marriott that addressed technical and
leadership skills.
