of the Terratest 5000 Blu device) 
ANNOTATION OF MASTER’S DISSERTATION
 
Relevance of theme. 
Nowadays, the quantity of tests in the quality control of 
construction of the road base layers is determined by normative documents in the 
longitudinal and transverse sections. Increasing the number of existing devices and 
methods and tests across the longitudinal and cross-section to improve the overall 
quality requires a lot of work and time. That's why the demand for new quality 
assurance devices and methods is rising. Express quality evaluation tools and 
devices are designed to get more and accurate results with less time spent. The 
Terratest 5000 Blu Light weight deflectometer can eliminate the above obstacles by 
applying quality control of the device with high accuracy and modern equipment. 
Increasing the number of tests increases the overall quality of the layer. 
 
Aim of the work. 
Improving the evaluation of subgrade compaction degree 
using modern equipment.
 
 
Research objectives: 
 
- analysis of existing quality control systems and methods in roadway 
construction; 
- studying the impact of gradient moisture on the compaction degree;

- studying the influence of type soil on evaluation compaction degree of 
subgrade; 
- studying the influence the type of compaction mechanism on compaction 
degree of subgrade; 
- development of recommendation the evaluation of subgrade compaction 
degree in modern equipment; 
- evaluation of cost-effectiveness of the recommendations developed.
