Students will do a task based reading activity inferring meanings from a text. 
Specific Objective: 
Ss will identify regulars and irregular verbs in past and defining new words from 
context, speaking and reading from a text. 
Material:
Activity sheet #4 and Activity sheet #5.

Lesson content –Activity 

Pre - reading 

1.
 
Teacher will say Good morning and to Ss asks them if they brought their 
homework. 
2.
 
Teacher will ask SS the next questions and shows them a few pictures of 
pets to get them involve in the activity. 
A. How many of you have a pet in your house? 
Or any other pet? 
B. What kind of pet is it? 
C. Do you enjoy their company? (go walk him or play with him) 
D. Do you think they can help you in any way? 
While - reading 
3. Ss
read the next text about Rex; He is a very special dog.

. T asks Ss if they liked the story and if they have any question about the 
vocabulary, then she asks a few Ss what was the story about and let them talk 
to the group. 
Post - reading 
8. 
T gives instructions to answer Activity Sheet #4; Ss have to guess the 
meaning of the words from context. Ss should not look in the dictionary they 
have to read the text and infer the meaning.

. Ss have to scan for the regular and irregular verbs in past tense and fill the 
chart. T has a list of irregular verbs (attached) in case Ss did not bring the
