Relevant Research 
This research focuses on the translation analysis of event names as type of 
proper names and quality assessment in the historical book entitled 
An Outline of 
American History
. The previous research of proper names was done by Dinar

Rusydiana, 2012. She found out the kinds of proper names and analyzed the 
translation technique of proper names by Hervey and Fernandes and translation 
quality assessment of proper names in terms of accuracy, acceptability and 
readability. The data source is novel entitled
Diary of Wimpy Kids.
Another 
research was done by Ornella Widyahutami, 2014. She also found out the types of 
proper names and analyzed the translation technique of proper names by 
Fernandes and translation quality assessment of proper names, but in terms of 
accuracy and acceptability. The data source is a Fantasy Greek and Roman 
Mythology novel entitled 
The Heroes of Olympus the Lost Hero. 
Both two 
previous researches use interview to collect the data from the informants. 
The researcher takes the similar topic as Dinar and Ornella i.e., analyzing 
proper names. However, the researcher only focuses on the translation analysis of 
event names. The researcher does not only analyze the translation technique of 
proper names by Fernandes like the previous research which was done by Ornella. 
The researcher analyzes the translation technique of proper names by Fernandes 
and Van Collies in analyzing translation technique of event names. Unlike the 
previous research which was done by Dinar who analyzed translation quality 
assessment in terms of accuracy, acceptability and readability, the researcher only 
analyzes the translation quality in terms of accuracy and acceptability. In addition, 
the researcher also tries to analyze the impact of translation technique in terms of 
accuracy and acceptability.Unlike the previous research, in this research, the 
researcher collects the data from the informants by focus group.
