Say: When this phrase is in an item, the item is asking about the main idea. Read the instructions 
at the top of the page aloud. Then remind students of the

was taught during Week 6. Instruct students to stop after each paragraph and remind themselves 
what it was about. Have students read the passage. When students have finished, direct them to 
complete the skill and strategy practice activities. Review the answers together.
