Vascular flora of the Kostroma river basin (Upper Volga Region)

The paper provides information on vascular flora of the Kostroma river basin (Upper Volga Region). 
The flora investigated comprises 1017 taxa, among which there are 728 native ones and 289 alien ones. Oc-
currence of 844 taxa is confirmed by author’s field surveys in 2011–2017. The richest families are Asterace-
ae (111 taxa, native and alien included), Poaceae (88) and Cyperaceae (73). Of the total number of neophyte 
alien taxa, 103 (47,9%) are casuals, 72 (33,5%) are naturalized, 33 (15,3%) are invasive and 7 (3,3%) are 
transformers. Information on six local floras, studied within the Kostroma river basin, which reveal the spa-
tial heterogeneity of the area is presented. Among 774 taxa 83 (10,7%) are progressive, 17 (2,2%) are de-
creasing, 17 (2,2%) are probably extinct, whereas remaining 657 (84,9%) has not changed their frequency. 
125 species of the flora are protected in Kostroma oblast.

В степных ценозах Западного Предкавказья и Северо–Западного Закавказья на настоящий 
момент зарегистрировано 830 видов сосудистых растений из 58 семейств. На Magnoliophyta прихо-
дится 829 видов, из которых 677 видов – Magnoliopsida, 152 – Liliopsida, 1 вид относится к 
Gnetophyta. К ведущим семействам с максимальным количеством видов относятся Asteraceae (135 
видов; 16,3%), Poaceae (88; 10,6%), Fabaceae (65; 7,8%), Caryophyllaceae (54; 6,5%), Lamiaceae (44; 
5,3%), Apiaceae (43; 5,2%), Brassicaceae (41; 4,9%), Scrophulariaceae и Rosaceae (по 33; 3,9%), и Borag-
inaceae (30; 3,6%). Экологическая структура степной флоры специфична. По отношению к световому
