Presentation work programs.
From the presentation software package 
used in Macintosh and Windows environments, it is possible to distinguish a 
group of programs that have been around for a long time. This group includes 
Freelance Graphics from Lotus, Harvard Graphics from Software Publishing, 
and Power Point from Microsoft. The developers of these programs are expand-
ing their capabilities by increasing the number of tools used in each new version 
(model). The new suite of presentations in Macintosh and Windows environ-
ments is designed to make the most of multimedia tools. These programs allow 
you to easily stream video files and use animation tools in diagrams. The new 
type of presentation software includes Macromedia's Action and Gold Disk's 
Astound software package. Power Point is part of the MS OFFICE suite. It is 
easy to use, convenient. The program includes a tutorial, ready-made presenta-
tions, word processing tools, and a helpful help system for beginners.
Scientific visualization programs. 
Scientific visualization programs are 
designed not only to solve local planning problems, but also to solve the prob-
lems of visualizing solar flares. Among the scientific and engineering graphics 
programs used on PCs are Golden Software's Surfer and Grapher, and 
MapViewer. These programs are designed to create planes and graphs, as well 
as color maps. They work in DOS and Windows environments. Color graphics 
and maps can be output to any monitor or external device using these programs. 
The surfer packet is designed to process and visualize two-dimensional data de-
fined by functions of the form z = f (x, y). It sees a digital model of the plane, 
performs auxiliary operations, and visualizes the results. The grapher program is 
designed to process and graph functions in the form y = f (x). It does not limit 
the number of graphs in a picture and the number of curves in graphs. Each 
curve can have up to 32,000 points, and a graph can have several coordinate ax-
es of different sizes and scales.
