These research studies indicate the necessity of
investment of recreational
objects but they are also the cursor of defining the new profession. All of this
shows that tourist institutions pay a lot of attention on perfecting the vacation of
its guests. The forms of modern animation are formed by training people and by
including other programs.
In his work for the international science congress in Rovinj, 1990, (p.. 247)
Čavlek reflects on the beginning of animation in the 1980 in former Yugoslavia.
The analysis of the survey conducted in 1987 among the guests of the
Bemextours organization from Great Britain (Phoenix Holidays) show that one
of the objections on the vacation spent in Yugoslavia is the lack of cultural and
recreational program. On the other hand, the
same survey shows that the
satisfaction of the guests with the entertainment program in holiday clubs was
considerably high. Over 70 % of the guests said that they would spend their
vacation again in some of the Bemextours holiday clubs. Bemextours was the
first one who opened the club of that kind in 1983. in Solaris near Šibenik. The
tourists` interest for spending the vacation on that way had so rapidly increased
that by the 1988. Bemextours founded 7 more clubs of such kind in Ankaran,
Umag, Funtan, Zadar, Kastel Star, Tučep and Dubrovnik. In 1989. Bemextours
opens 4
more clubs in Valovine, Punta Skali, Vodice and Bečići. Only in
Yugoslavia there was 171 000 tourists and the income was 70 million dollars.
The animation was present till the 80-ies and had the tendency of growth.
Based on sociological research we found out that from 1975. until present in
Flandria there was a significant increase in the level of activity of sports
(measured in hours-months) that have an important
connection with nature
(sailing on board, sailing, walking, hiking etc.)
The most frequent sports activities at this moment in Flandria are walking
(59,6%) and swimming (42,2%) therefore those activities which a man can
practice solely or with his family states Clayes, U. (De knop. 1990. p. 186.).
Also the sport that made the biggest increase is biking. Nowadays people have
the tendency to spend their free time actively, practicing sport in nature. It
affected the sport in the terms of tourism. The most popular sports activities on
(club) vacation are: swimming, tennis, sailing and board sailing (De knop. 1990.
p. 186). Among the popular sports activities
of all kinds of vacation ,except
those already mentioned in clubs, are: walking, biking and skiing. That’s why
68% of German tourists want to have the chance of swimming, 56% want to
have well marked paths for walking while 29% want suitable parks where there
are organized games like mini golf and tennis as EMNID reports it ( De knop.
1990. p. 186).
