Abstract
Many questions are being asked about usage of mass media and technologies
for academic purposes. More important thing is how the students will use the media,
especially digital media, for their learning. Digital literacy is becoming a more effective
way for learning language and teaching it to other students.
In terms of academic
purpose digital literacy is understanding and being capable of using computers or other
technologies for intending to acquire knowledge. This paper will define what is digital
literacy, even though many other researchers had already talked about it, and its useful
aspects for English learners and teachers, as well as it gives some information about
the best web-programs for language learning. In conclusion, students should improve
their language learning skills via digital literacy and also

In recent years, all the world has changed by the improvement of technology.
Even the methods of teaching the lessons in the classroom had significant changes by
the influence of technology. Educators had to replace their techniques and methods of
teaching to the way of instructing with digital media. One the main reasons for this
occasion: learning new language requires from students writing, reading, speaking and
listening skills, whereas the students acquire
these skills from podcasts, ted talks,
textbooks, films which can be played
via phone, computer, TV and etc. Because the
younger generation used to work with these kinds of technologies which have got so
many benefits for learning a lesson or language. In his book: Lincs, Rob Jenkins “A
list of survival skills would not be complete without including digital literacy
activities. It is important to note that technology in the
classroom can be used with
great success to enhance instruction, but this alone doesn't
provide opportunities for
students to develop digital literacy skills. Also, digital literacy consists of more than
being able to acquire basic computer skills. It includes what people do with technology,
how
they solve problems, and how they communicate effectively”
