STEP 1: 
Play the DVD. Ask the pupils to listen to the song and sing it. Look at Unit 9 Lesson 1 Activity 1 for the DVD 
script. 
STEP 2: 
Checking homework. The pupils work in pairs, ask the questions they wrote at home. 
Note: 
It can be done as a mingling activity with the whole group. 
III. Main part
Activity 2 Look and answer the questions.

Objectives: to learn about the geography of North America; to revise the superlative form of adjectives 
STEP 1: 
Ask the pupils to look at the picture. Ask: 
What can you see in the picture? 
Accept all answers. 
STEP 2: 
Ask them to read and answer the questions. 
Answer key: 
1) Three countries. 2) The United States, Canada and Mexico. 3) The United States is the biggest country (by 
area). The smallest country is Mexico (by area).
