The Ballad about a Soldier
is not a ballad, but a film about a young soldier who blew up
a German tank during WWII and was given a 2–3 day leave. The film recounts the
adventures that happen to him while he is making his way across Russia to his native
village.
2. Pushkin’s laconic style set the stylistic tone for such 19th-century prose-writers as
Lermontov, Turgenev, Goncharov, and Tolstoy, but as a poet Pushkin is unique.
