Section 207
1. Any person who, in cases where a statement under oath is required pursuant to a statutory
regulation or legal consequences are attached to such statement pursuant to a statutory
regulation, intentionally makes a false statement under oath, either verbally or in writing, either in
person or through a person specially authorised for that purpose, shall be liable to a term of
imprisonment not exceeding six years or a fine of the fourth category.
2. If the false statement is made to the detriment of the defendant or the suspect in a criminal case,
the offender shall be liable to a term of imprisonment not exceeding nine years or a fine of the fifth
category.
3. A promise or an affirmation authorised by law as a substitute for an oath shall be considered as
equivalent to an oath.
4. Disqualification from the rights listed in section 28(1)(1°),( 2°) and (4°) may be imposed.
