Mid position means between the subject and verb. However, the exact position

varies depending on whether auxiliary or modal verbs are used, and on the type of

adjunct:

I 

usually stay at a hotel near the airport.

(between subject and verb)

(following the first auxiliary/modal verb)

Indeed in the past two months central banks have been 

modestly selling dollars

to check the currency’s rise. 

(following the last auxiliary verb)
