3 Some of my qualifications are non-UK.
How do I translate them into UK ones?
It’s not possible to directly translate them as educational systems vary
widely and a grade or degree classification can mean quite different things
from country to country. The best way to approach this is to explain your
qualification so that the reader understands its significance. You can use
phrases such as, “equivalent to top five per cent of year”, or “highest
possible grade”. GPAs and percentages will normally be recognised.
For more information look at the NARIC website (naric.org.uk). There is
a telephone number you can call if you want to speak to a specialist
about comparing qualifications. If you are unsure about anything, contact
the organisation you are applying to directly.
