SENATE ACTIVITY

The organizational form of the Senate's activity is its session. Senate meetings are held as needed, but at least three times a year. Joint sessions of the Senate and the Legislative Chamber are held when the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan is sworn in, when the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan speaks on important issues of socio-economic life, domestic and foreign policy, and when foreign leaders speak. In accordance with the agreement of the Chambers, joint meetings may be held on other issues

Procedure for holding meetings of the Senate and its bodies

The organizational form of the Senate is its meetings, which are held as needed, but at least three times a year. Meetings of the Senate shall be deemed valid if at least half of the total number of senators participate in their work. At least two-thirds of the total number of senators must be present when considering the issues of approval of the Constitution of the Republic of Uzbekistan, constitutional laws, amendments and additions to them.
