Methods and Results 
Based on the analysis of research works and conducted studies, a constructive 
scheme of a tool for preparing cotton fields for sowing on ridges has been 
developed (Figure 1). The combined unit consists of a frame 1, a mounted device 
2, a support wheel 3, a dump deep-loader 4 and 5, right and left-turning dump 6 
and 7, a comb-maker 8 and 9.

The working bodies of the combined unit are placed in three rows on the frame, the 
first and second rows are equipped with overturning pits, and the third row is 
equipped with plows. In order to ensure high-quality tillage and minimal energy 
consumption, the first and second rows of dump pits are moved in a longitudinal 
plane relative to each other. 
The combined unit is designed to be used in the fall to prepare cotton fields without 
cotton stalks for seed germination, forming new stalks in place of existing stalks 
and new stalks in place of existing stalks. 
When working, the deep loaders 4 and 5 loosen the soil of the existing row spacing 
and loosen the lower layer of the formed ridge. Dumps 6 and 7 wrap the soil of the 
ridges in the middle of the existing row spacing, and ripper 3 loosens the upper 
layer of the right ridge. After that, the comb makers 8 and 9 shift the soil layer of 
the ridges and form a new irrigation furrow. 
To substantiate the design and parameters of the working bodies of the tool (Figure 
2) and their mutual location, experimental studies were conducted. The following 
parameters were established by single-factor experiments: the wing length of the 
deep-loader blade is in the range of 0.47-0.49 m, the ripper grip width is in the 
range of 0.1-0.14 m, and the longitudinal distance between them is 0.375 m. 
To determine the parameters of the ripper (Figure 3), that is, the loosening knife of 
the deep ripper, multivariate experiments were carried out using mathematical 
planning of experiments.
