Introduction. 
Although aluminum anodizing processes have been studied and reported in thousands of studies, in recent 
years new challenges have been developed for the production of high-grade anodic aluminum oxide (AAO) films, templates,

the fabrication of porous alumina on silicon substrates for the synthesis of nanoengineered structures integrated with electronic 
and optoelectronic devices is the object of several investigations [2-3]. Nano-porous anodic aluminum oxide films were obtained 
by anodic oxidation using acidic and alkaline solutions, but the porosity in these films are quite disordered [4], after that Masuda 
et al. in 1998, using a two-step anodization process was able to produce a highly ordered hexagonal pore structure from a set of 
pre-arranged macroscopic parameters [5-6]. The first membrane was manufactured in-house, while the second was a 
commercially available membrane. Both membranes had a mean pore diameter of 100 nm but had different interpore spacing and 
surface roughness [7]. Most researchers studying aluminum anodization use electrolytes at low temperatures (in the range of 0–5 
ºC) to reduce the high current density rates that result from oxide dissolution [8]. 
In this paper, the fact that it is fundamental to select the synthesis conditions that best adapt to each particular application, 
we also studied the correlation between the synthesis conditions (electrolyte concentration, temperature and anodization voltage), 
the current density vs. time curves and the morphological properties of the AAO films, defined mainly by the pore diameter, the 
interpore distance, pore density and the film thickness.
