We use -'s  for people:

• It's my sister's house (not “the house of my sister”). 
• Meet Mr. Brown's wife. 
• Let's go to James’s party. 
• Bob is a man's name. Paula is a woman's name. 
 
You can use -'s without a noun after it: 
• Mary's hair is longer than Ann's. (= Ann's hair) 
• “Whose coat is this?”  “It's my friend's”. (= my friend's coat) 
• “Where is Kelly now?”  “She is at her uncle's”. (= uncle's 
house)
