Here is a picture of Queen's Elizabeth's coronation in 1963. She is wearing
a crown and holding a scepter and an orb in her hand. All of these things are
called "The Crown Jewels". She is wearing a beautiful robe and sitting on
the coronation throne.
In 1066 a French nobleman called William, went to England. He defeated
the English and became the new King. Everyone called him "William the
Conqueror

" and he was the first king to be crowned in Westminster Abbey.
Now all kings and queens are crowned here.
A coronation is always a moment for celebration but it is also a religious
