The most important way of decreasing traffic jams is for the government to make the public transport free all the time. In my opinion, I disagree that it is the most effective way to solve the problem because it might lead to another problem.

One major reason why free public transport wouldn’t work is that despite solving the problem, it creates another problem such as overcrowded buses or trains. If all types of transport is free of charge, overwhelming number of people will choose to use public transport, thus many people would feel uncomfortable because of less air and space. In addition, some old people who have health problems may suffer from less air, as a result, they may faint and lose consciousness.

Another possible reason why making public transport free is not the best solution for traffic congestions is because a public transport would become even slower. This is not good because there might be some people who are late to their work places or study places and they might be rushing so they need a faster way of reaching their destinations. For example, office workers need to be on time for their work places. That’s why public transport shouldn’t be free and the government should come up with another solution.

In conclusion, although free public transport can be the possible way of reducing traffic congestion, it is not the best way because it creates other problems such as less air and spaces in transport vehicles and very slow movement.
