On Easter
The Lord blessed us with over 300 souls who attended Trinity on Easter Sunday. How wonderful to see God’s church overflowing with so many celebrating the resurrection of our Lord.
However, what happened at Trinity is more impressive than the attendance figures. We had a stage-full of beautiful children for children’s time and children’s church. The youth, who had dedicated themselves to practice for a couple months, blessed us with the “Hands for Christ” drama. 300 people praised the Lord in unison as the excellent Trinity Praise Band led us in worship.
But, it gets even better! Four young people gave their hearts to Christ and were baptized during the service. Another youth joined the church. Furthermore, three people responded to the altar call following the sermon and committed their lives to Christ during the service. We should still be celebrating such an event! This is what the church is all about. God is not dead. God is alive! And He is touching hearts and lives. Yes, people are still being saved for God’s glory! And it is happening now at Trinity. “Thanks be to God for His indescribable gift” (2 Corinthians 9:15).
After Easter
Easter Sunday is now in our rearview mirrors. Do we return to “business as usual” or “church as usual?” I certainly hope not. Our relationship with the Lord should be changing, progressing, and developing.
God is exciting, adventurous, humorous, beautiful, surprising, and much more. There should never, ever, ever be a dull moment when we are spending it with the Creator of the Universe and His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ. Each day should be better than the one before. God reveals Himself anew and afresh every single Sunday and every single day.
Did you experience the resurrection of Christ in your heart this Easter? Did you feel the nail scars in the hands and side of the resurrected Lord? Were you renewed, refreshed…resurrected? If so, then “after Easter” will be even better than “on Easter.”
In Christ,
Joey
