Please, note that:
•
All users in forums have the option of using the “Report” button through which
they can flag up an inappropriate comment
– a comment can be deemed
inappropriate for a number of reasons by users and facilitators. If a comment is
reported through that function, it immediately is unpublished until the
designated country moderator checks if the comment is indeed breaching the
Online Teacher Community Code of Conduct and Safeguarding Policy.
•
If, after being checked by the moderator the comment is confirmed as safe to
be published again, it will appear on the forum page which is accessible to all
forum members.
•
If the moderator agrees that the comment is indeed breaching Online Teacher
Community regulations, the post will permanently be deleted and the user who
posted the comment will separately be contacted and warned about the
situation.
•
If the comment was abusive, offensive or aggressive and displayed intolerance
and aggressive behaviour towards other members of the community, access
will instantly be terminated and the teacher in question will no longer be able to
participate in the Online Teacher Community.
•
If the comment was not related to English language teaching, the teachers will
be warned and reminded that only comments focused on English language
teaching and learning can be posted.
•
If the comment was of a political nature, the teacher will be reminded that *no*
political views c
an be expressed on the Online Teacher Community. If
expressions of political views continue, the teacher’s access will be suspended
for a month.
Please note that authors of any posts / replies / comments which are directly aggressive,
threatening or insulting to teachers from other countries / of other religions, will be
contacted immediately and instantly removed from the
platform without any possibility of acquiring access.
We also strongly discourage any direct communication between teachers on the platform
in form of exchanging of any personal data (e.g., telephone numbers, private email
addresses, postal addresses, etc.)
Please note that all interactions between teachers related to the programme delivered on
the Online Teacher Community should take place only through forums and chats in live
meetings / webinars and we do support any communication between facilitators and
teachers for the purpose of the Online Teacher Community- related programmed through
personal phones or messaging apps.
