Nowadays, sport stars can get a lot of money with advertising some expensive sporting goods or other products. Although, this may cause some problems, in my view, this is a positive development.

In these days, with the help of internet athletes can engage large audience across the world than before and it means nowadays famous athletes have much more effect on their fans ever. As a result of this, the use of sports stars in advertisements are common today but these ads can have some repercussions. Usually, athletes endorse fast foods and drinks which are not actually healthy. Furthermore, sports stars are widely known among teenagers and young people, and youth may think that if they consume the products, which are recommending by their favorite athlete, they will be like them. Hence, this can lead to consuming more junk food by youth and the consequence of this may be increase health problems among young people.
Although the factors that mentioned above, in my opinion using famous athletes in advertisements have more benefits. Nowadays, sports stars earn most of their income from advertisements or social media programs. And also, these advertisements are well watched as famous athletes participated in it and so this type of advertisements can significantly increase the customers of the advertised brands. For instance, Lionel Messi, who usually advertises Lay’s, Pepsi and other brands, gets huge amounts of money from these advertisements.
In conclusion, despite the use of famous athletes in food product advertisements may have negative impact on young people: tending them to consume more unhealthy foods. In my view, these advertisements have more financial benefits to both the athletes and the advertiser brands.
