The aіm: to extend students communicative competence by developing their ability to use four skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing in an integrated way transferable to university context

Objectives:

  • to get acquainted with the words related to study place

  • to give definitions to the words

  • to describe study place using the video clip

  • to enhance students’ vocabulary

Activity type:

individual, pair work, small group work, team work, whole group work

Warm up.
Answer the questions.

Activity 1.
Ex 1. Watch the video. Who are you most similar to? Complete Finn’s text with one word in each gap, 1–6. Then watch the video again and check your answers (Speak out Pre-Intermediate, 2nd. BBC Interviews_U08).

Ex 2. Look at the pictures below and read sentences 1–8. Then watch the video and match six sentences to people A–D. There are two extra sentences.
