Based on a comprehensive assessment of insurance 
indicators, it is necessary to assess the financial condition 
of the insurer on the total amount of payments and 
payments paid by the statutory fund, the amount of 
insurance reserves. This approach actually coincides with 
the information published by the League of Insurance 
Organizations of Ukraine. Then you can rank insurance 
companies in absolute terms. These indicators allow to 
form the first criteria that determine the quality of the 
financial condition of the insurer.Thus, the assessment of 
the set of listed indicators makes it possible to determine 
how efficiently the insurer’s resources are used, whether 
he receives a profit and what income is received from 
investments. The comparative analysis of insurers on the 
first group gives the chance to carry out a rating on the basic 
components of activity of insurance companies. It should be 
emphasized that all indicators of the financial condition of 
the insurer are interrelated and interdependent. Therefore, 
it is not possible to assess the real situation on the basis 
of using only absolute indicators. This requires an analysis 
of a set of relative most common indicators. Relative 
indicators play an important role in modern conditions for 
the analysis of financial stability. They are more common 
because they make it possible to correlate objects in a way 
that cannot be done in absolute terms. Relative indicators 
help to solve the problem of determining financial stability 
on the basis of financial statements.
